Is the Diablo Apricot Muesli Bar sugar-free?
No. The Diablo Apricot Muesli Bar has no added sugar, but the packaging states “contains naturally occurring sugar.” The nutrition table lists 7.5 g of sugar per 100 g. “No added sugar” therefore does not mean “sugar-free”: a sugar-free muesli bar may contain no more than 0.5 g of sugar per 100 g.

How do I calculate insulin for low carb products?
Low-carb products say "sugar-free" on the packaging, but the carbohydrates are usually very high. What does that mean and how much insulin do I need for it? The carbohydrates from polyhydric alcohols have no effect on the metabolism and do not increase blood sugar levels, so they do not need to be calculated in terms of insulin dosage. In concrete terms, this means: you check the packaging to see how many carbohydrates are stated. From that, you subtract the information "of which polyhydric alcohols". The result is the number that you need to take into account in terms of insulin dosage.
