Cutasept F 1000 ml Skin Disinfectant

Cutasept F skin disinfectant in the 1000 ml size is a fast-acting and reliable antiseptic for the skin: It inactivates germs, bacteria, fungi and certain viruses through direct contact and is therefore suitable for regular use at home, for example before inserting vascular catheters, before injections or blood collection. It is also known simply as Cutasept skin disinfectant or Cutasept F.

Everyday use

Cutasept F is intended for skin disinfection before inserting vascular catheters into intact skin, before injections and blood collection, as well as before surgical procedures and punctures.

Composition, indications and warnings

Composition: 100 g of solution contain: active ingredient: propan-2-ol 63.0 g, equivalent to 72% by volume. Other ingredients: benzalkonium chloride, purified water.

Indications: Skin disinfection before punctures, injections and surgical procedures. Surgical and hygienic hand disinfection.

Contraindications: Do not use in the immediate vicinity of the eyes. Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. When used properly, Cutasept F can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side effects: Mild, diffuse skin irritation is common. Contact allergic reactions may occur.

Warnings: There is insufficient experience with the treatment of infants and young children. In such cases, use should only occur after particularly strict indication and under medical supervision. Benzalkonium chloride may cause skin irritation. Do not wet the skin under tourniquets. With incision films, wait for complete drying. Only use electrical devices after drying. Avoid accumulation on the patient's surface. Do not bring into contact with open flames. Keep away from sources of ignition. When the preparation is used as intended, fire and explosion hazards are not expected. If the solution comes into contact with the eyes, rinse the opened eyes with running water for several minutes. After spilling the disinfectant, the following measures should be taken: immediately soak up the liquid, dilute with plenty of water, ventilate the room and remove sources of ignition. Flash point according to DIN 51755: 21 °C. Flammable. Any decanting must only take place under aseptic conditions (sterile bench).
