📐 How long our stickers last
In short: On the sensor, stickers last the full wearing period (10 or 14 days), on device housings like transmitters or pumps, several weeks.
Our stickers are made of printed vinyl with a transparent protective sealant. They are waterproof and UV-resistant. You can bathe, swim, go to the sauna, and be out in the sun with them. On the sensor itself, they last the entire sensor wearing period (Dexcom G6: 10 days, FreeStyle Libre and Dexcom G7: 14 days each) [2,3]. On device housings like transmitters, pumps, or readers, they last significantly longer, often several weeks until the next scheduled change.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions about Sensor Stickers
Do the stickers stay on when swimming, bathing, and in the sauna?
Yes. The protective sealant makes the stickers waterproof. After visiting the swimming pool, dab them dry briefly instead of rubbing, as this protects the adhesive. For long sauna sessions, we recommend gently drying the sensor in between.
Are the stickers suitable for children's skin?
Stickers are applied directly to the sensor itself, so the adhesive does not come into direct contact with the skin. This makes them uncritical for children's skin as well. For sensitive skin or known adhesive reactions around the sensor, we recommend testing a sticker on a small skin area beforehand [1].
How long do the stickers last?
On the sensor: for the full sensor wearing period. For Dexcom G6, this is 10 days [3], for FreeStyle Libre and Dexcom G7, it is 14 days each [2]. On device housings like transmitters, pumps, or readers, stickers last several weeks, often the entire transmitter lifespan of around 12 weeks.
Can I combine stickers with tapes or sensor holders?
Yes. Stickers are placed directly on the sensor, covering tapes are clamped around it on the skin, and sensor holders are placed over the whole thing. All three can be combined. Stickers remain visible or are partially covered by the tape, depending on the tape size.
What to do if a sticker starts to peel at the edge?
Press it down briefly with your thumb; the adhesive activates with warmth. If an edge permanently comes loose, you can carefully peel off the sticker and apply a new one. With a multipack, you have spares.
