Since our founding in 2015, we have thought carefully about our packaging. Charming paper jewelry bags felt like the best fit for us from the very beginning for Zuckerschmuck's mission: moving away from the medical, sterile appearance of diabetes aids and toward charming paper jewelry packaging. At the same time, we wanted to reduce plastic waste and oversized packaging wherever possible.

In short: paper instead of plastic, small packaging sizes, recycled paper for invoices. Where plastic is necessary, we use it consciously and sparingly.
- Main packaging: paper jewelry bags and cardboard boxes for most of our stickers, tapes and jewelry
- Plastic use: only where it is required to protect against moisture or breakage (for example, with moisture-sensitive adhesive products)
- Delivery notes and invoices: on certified recycled paper (see the note below for certification details)
- Shipping boxes: sized as small as possible to reduce filling material and shipping volume
- Ongoing optimization: we regularly review which packaging steps can be reduced further
Note on specific certifications: according to the manufacturer's information, the recycled paper used is certified. You are welcome to ask for the exact certification designation (for example FSC, Blue Angel or PEFC) at info@zuckerschmuck.com.
📦 Packaging: paper, cardboard and as little plastic as possible
In short: paper or cardboard is standard. Plastic is used only where the contents would otherwise be damaged.
Stickers, tapes, jewelry and small accessories are packaged in paper jewelry bags or cardboard boxes. This means the contents reach you in an appealing form without requiring plastic packaging. For products that are moisture-sensitive or need a specific level of protection (for example, some adhesive tapes or sensor stickers with protective sealing), we use plastic only where it is functionally necessary.
📄 Recycled paper for delivery notes and invoices
We print delivery notes and invoices on recycled paper. According to the manufacturer's information, the paper used is appropriately certified. You can contact us at any time for the exact certification designation.
🔄 What we are continuously improving
In short: packaging is not a “finished” topic; we review step by step what can be reduced further.
Specific areas we are currently working on:
- Reducing plastic protective sleeves wherever our product range allows
- Optimizing shipping box sizes to reduce filling material further
- Reviewing reusable and recycling solutions for internal storage packaging
- Selecting suppliers with verifiable packaging standards

❓ Frequently asked questions about packaging and shipping
Does Zuckerschmuck ship plastic-free?
We package orders in paper and cardboard without plastic wherever possible. For moisture-sensitive or breakable products, we use plastic specifically where it is necessary for protection. We currently cannot guarantee that everything is “completely plastic-free,” but we are continuously reducing our use.
Can I choose the packaging myself when ordering?
By default, we choose small packaging for your order wherever possible. If you need a special packaging option (for example, wrapped as a gift or without a jewelry bag), simply write it in the order comment field.
What certification does the recycled paper have?
According to the manufacturer's information, the recycled paper used is certified. If needed, you can ask for the exact certification designation at info@zuckerschmuck.com.
What happens to returned packaging?
For returns, we check whether the original packaging can be reused. Damaged packaging is disposed of according to the applicable recycling standards.
Are the Zuckerschmuck products themselves sustainable?
That depends on the product. For textile products such as pump cases, we focus on durable workmanship. For stickers and tapes, the manufacturers use established printing materials. You can find exact product details on the respective product page or upon request.
Do you offset CO2 emissions from shipping?
Instead of relying on subsequent offsetting, we use GoGreen Plus from Deutsche Post and DHL for shipping. According to DHL, this reduces CO2e emissions by around 95% through measures in the logistics network within Germany; the savings are mathematically allocated to the shipments.
