Since our founding in 2015, we have been thinking about our packaging. Loving paper jewelry bags have always been the best fit for Zuckerschmuck's mission: moving away from the medical, sterile appearance of diabetes aids to charming, paper jewelry packaging. At the same time, we wanted to reduce plastic waste and oversized packaging wherever possible.

In short: Paper instead of plastic, small packaging sizes, recycled paper for invoices. Where plastic is necessary, we use it consciously and sparingly.
- Main packaging: Paper jewelry bags and cardboard boxes for the majority of our stickers, tapes and jewelry
- Plastic use: only where it is necessary for protection against moisture or breakage (for example, for moisture-sensitive adhesive products)
- Delivery note and invoice: on certified recycled paper (certification details see note below)
- Shipping boxes: as small as possible to reduce filling material and freight volume
- Ongoing optimization: we regularly check which packaging steps can be further reduced

📦 Packaging: paper, cardboard and as little plastic as possible
In short: Paper or cardboard is standard. Plastic is only used where the contents would otherwise be damaged.
Stickers, tapes, jewelry and smaller accessories are packed in paper jewelry bags or cardboard boxes. This ensures that the contents reach you in an appealing form without any plastic packaging. For products that are moisture-sensitive or require a certain level of protection (e.g., some adhesive tapes or sensor stickers with protective seals), we only use plastic where it is functionally necessary.
📄 Recycled paper for delivery notes and invoices
We print delivery notes and invoices on recycled paper. The paper used is certified according to the manufacturer's specifications. You can contact us at any time for the exact certification designation.
🔄 What we are continuously improving
In short: Packaging is not a "finished" topic, we are constantly reviewing what can be further reduced, step by step.

- Reduction of plastic protective covers where product range development allows
- Optimization of shipping box sizes to further reduce filling material
- Review of reusable and recycling solutions for internal storage packaging

Does Zuckerschmuck ship plastic-free?
We pack as plastic-free as possible in paper and cardboard. For moisture-sensitive or break-sensitive products, we use plastic specifically where it is necessary for protection. We cannot currently guarantee "completely plastic-free," but we are continuously reducing our plastic use.
Can I choose packaging myself when ordering?
By default, we choose the smallest possible and most resource-efficient packaging for your order. If you need a special desired form (e.g., wrapped as a gift or without a jewelry bag), simply write it in the comment field of your order.
What certification does the recycled paper have?
The recycled paper used is certified according to the manufacturer's specifications. You can inquire about the exact certification designation at info@zuckerschmuck.com if needed.
What happens to returned packaging?
For returns, we check whether the original packaging can be reused. Damaged packaging is disposed of according to the respective recycling standards.
Are Zuckerschmuck products themselves sustainable?
This depends on the product. For textile products such as pump bags, we pay attention to durable workmanship so that repair instead of new purchase remains possible. For stickers and tapes, the manufacturers use established printing materials. Exact product details can be found on the respective product page or upon request.
Do you offer CO2 compensation for shipping?
DHL and some other shipping service providers offer climate-neutral shipping options. Which ones apply to your order depends on the chosen shipping method. Details are available upon request at info@zuckerschmuck.com.
