How does Zuckerschmuck calculate the countable carbohydrates (net carbs)?
For the shop information, we subtract the declared polyols from the carbohydrates. Always compare the same reference quantity, such as 100 g. This is our calculated net-carb figure and not an individual insulin-dosing recommendation.
Are the Diablo chocolate cream cookies sugar-free?
No. The Diablo chocolate cream cookies have no added sugar; the sugar comes from the ingredients themselves. The manufacturer states 4 g of sugar per 100 g. “No added sugar” therefore does not mean “sugar-free”: sugar-free cookies may contain no more than 0.5 g of sugar per 100 g.
How do I convert the countable carbohydrates into KE or BE?

Ingredients
Wheat flour, sweetener maltitol, vegetable palm fat, low-fat cocoa powder 6%, whey powder from milk, corn starch, cocoa mass, raising agents: ammonium bicarbonate and sodium bicarbonate, salt, emulsifier: soya lecithin, vanilla flavouring.
Allergens: Contains wheat (gluten), milk and soya.
May have a laxative effect if consumed to excess.
During the summer months, the chocolate may melt due to high outdoor temperatures. We store the products in a cool place, but cannot guarantee delivery free from melting.
* Note on carbohydrates: Polyols are listed in the nutrition table under carbohydrates. We calculated the countable carbohydrates as follows: carbohydrates minus polyols, as also described by diabinfo, the diabetes information portal of Helmholtz Munich and the German Diabetes Center, for sugar substitutes. Some polyols are partially digested, so observe how your levels respond.

How do I calculate insulin for low carb products?
Low-carb products say "sugar-free" on the packaging, but the carbohydrates are usually very high. What does that mean and how much insulin do I need for it? The carbohydrates from polyhydric alcohols have no effect on the metabolism and do not increase blood sugar levels, so they do not need to be calculated in terms of insulin dosage. In concrete terms, this means: you check the packaging to see how many carbohydrates are stated. From that, you subtract the information "of which polyhydric alcohols". The result is the number that you need to take into account in terms of insulin dosage.

How long does it take to ship my Zuckerschmuck® order?
We make every effort to deliver your order as quickly as possible. Orders are usually sent to the post office by letter, maxi letter or parcel on the same or next day after payment has been received. Please note: Letters cannot be accepted by packing stations, so always specify a normal home address with a mailbox as the delivery address. If you pay via PayPal and credit card, the credit is usually credited to our account immediately, i.e. we ship the next day. If you pay in advance, it can take a few days, depending on the bank, for the credit to be credited to our account.
