Birch sugar xylitol powder is manufactured in Finland under strict European pharmaceutical and ISO standards. Selected woods from sustainable forestry are used for the production. Birch sugar is granular like conventional saccarose sugar and is just as convenient to dose. This makes your baking and cooking recipes particularly easy to succeed. Birch sugar is practically 1:1 equal to conventional sugar in sweetening power.
Birch sugar belongs to the sugar alcohols, is a natural sugar substitute and is found in practically all plants. Xylitol is obtained from xylose (wood sugar). Its special formula C5H12O5 helps to neutralize acid in the mouth to a large extent. Acid damages tooth enamel and can lead to tooth decay. In addition, the enamel is remineralized. Many other positive properties have been attributed to xylitol in the course of the last 30 years of research.
Xylitol is formed in the metabolism of the human body itself and is therefore ‘known’ to the human body.
Birch sugar – the name is owed to the discovery of xylitol / xylitol in birch bark over 100 years ago. Birch sugar is produced in the “land of xylitol” – Finland from birch and about 20% from other types of wood.
